My Favorite Person
And a pre-Thanksgiving writer's block to you all
This is my week off. I’ve contemplated what I should write all day, and now the day is almost over. This weekend, I went to the funeral of my great-uncle and cried my eyes out for an hour straight. I also got to hang with my favorite person in the world and his girlfriend. I saw Audubon art, ate way too much restaurant food, and walked in the sand with my shoes off. Tomorrow, I am going to the Harry Ransom Center in Austin to do a little extra credit research on books and the people who write them. Thursday, I’ll skip cooking at home and opt instead for an overpriced upscale hotel buffet. The weekend will be filled with homework and putting up the Christmas tree.
Even though the holidays don’t officially begin until I hear Do They Know It's Christmas? over the loudspeaker at the grocery store, I watched The Muppet Christmas Carol, so I’m already one holiday tradition into the season. Emmet Otter’s Jug-band Christmas can’t be far behind. But before that, there are finals to take and papers to write, so more later. But for now, have a Happy Thanksgiving everyone.
Love the ones you’re with.

Happy Thanksgiving to you and yours
